11/10/2017 Fraser MacLean time

We had this lecture with Fraser MacLean, an Amazing Scottish animator that has his own little animation studio, worked for Disney in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Sands Films and has a lot of experience in animation in general.

I felt like we got to know a bit more the origin of animation and photography thanks to him, he talked about how hard was for him to enter the animation world, how he struggled and he got brilliant results.

I felt involved in the conversation and got to know a bit better how the sound system works in movies ( as I didn’t have a clue), he has been responsible for the sound effects in a project.

The concept of silhouette he explained us was very interesting, I already knew why it is so important to give different shapes to different characters with different personalities, but he made it more clear, showing us Disney’s Mulan as an example and the first animated movie, The adventures of Prince Ahmed.

Overall it has been a very nice experience, hope to meet Fraser again in the future.
