A Bad Trip - Influences
Hello,
it is worth to spend a post talking about what influenced our work.
In general, for most of the scenes we were inspired from "Badland" the game for mobile devices.

You can see from this image that the backgrounds and the setting of the scene of our film are really similar to the game.
In particular we have filmed one scene, Edd's dream, which we can compare to this picture.
We found that the two light sources give a more dynamic aspect to the scene, we did that using two phones.
We also included a very similar bladed wheel in our animation (made by black cardboard), and we gave it a key role.
Another big influence we had in our animation is a particular scene in the Tim Burton movie "Nightmare before Christmas".

This scene is when Jack is singing on a wheird 'hill', which unrolls itself while he walks, to let him get down in the fields underneath.
We basically made the same system to with our spacecraft in the third scene, where Kurai and Geronimo arrive on the planet Earth, the spaceship lands and, unrolling a bridge, let the two characters come down on the ground.
We crafted that with blackcardboard and pins, and some knowledge from Little Big Planet (PS3 game).
Bye,
Eleonora
